Need it quickly? Call instead of guessing.

General hire questions.

Do you show prices online?

No. Prices are not shown online because hire costs depend on the equipment, availability, hire length, site location, transport requirements and the job itself.

Call with the details and FJC Hire can check the hire properly instead of giving a generic price that may not apply to your job.

Why do I need to call for availability?

Availability can change quickly, especially with plant, popular tools and delivery slots. Some equipment may also be arranged through trusted hire supply routes, so the exact kit needs to be checked before anything is confirmed.

Calling allows the team to check the machine, dates, delivery, access and job requirements properly.

What information should I have ready before calling?

Have the machine, tool or kit needed, site postcode, hire dates, access details, ground conditions and delivery requirements ready if possible.

For plant hire, it also helps to know what the machine is doing, how much space there is to work, what surface it will be operating on and whether attachments are needed.

Can you help me choose the right kit?

Yes. FJC Hire is built around practical site experience, so the aim is to understand the job rather than just take an order.

If you are unsure what size machine, tool or attachment you need, call with the job details and the team can help point you in the right direction before availability is checked.

Is FJC Hire a call centre?

No. The point of FJC Hire is to offer practical hire support from people who understand site work, access, ground conditions and what the kit actually needs to do.

The phone line should feel like direct hire support, not a generic sales desk.

Plant hire questions.

What plant hire can be arranged?

Common plant hire enquiries include excavators, dumpers, rollers, bowsers, excavator attachments and site UTVs.

Other plant may also be checked depending on the job, location, dates and availability. Call if you need something that is not listed online.

What excavator size do I need?

The right excavator depends on access, dig depth, reach, ground conditions, working space, lifting requirements, attachments and the type of work being carried out.

Micro and compact machines suit tighter access and smaller works. Larger excavators suit heavier groundworks, civils, site clearance, foundations and bulk excavation.

Can attachments be supplied with excavators?

Buckets and attachments can often be arranged, but exact availability depends on the excavator size, supplier availability and the job requirement.

Tell FJC Hire if you need specific buckets, breakers, grabs, forks, compactors or other attachments so this can be checked before hire is confirmed.

Can you arrange site UTV hire?

Yes, site UTV hire can be arranged for construction, civils, events, estates and large sites where people, tools or light materials need moving around site.

Options may include Polaris Ranger style two seat or four seat utility vehicles, subject to availability.

Can plant be supplied with an operator?

This depends on the machine, job, location and availability. Some enquiries may be hire only, while others may need operated plant or a different arrangement.

Call with the job details so the correct option can be discussed.

Can I hire plant for domestic work?

Plant hire may be possible for domestic jobs, but access, delivery, ground conditions, working space, operator experience and insurance all need to be considered.

For tight driveways, gardens, restricted entrances or residential work, call before assuming a machine will fit or be suitable.

Delivery, collection and insurance.

Can delivery be arranged?

Yes, delivery can be arranged where available. Delivery depends on the equipment, site location, access, transport availability and hire dates.

Give the full site postcode and access details when you call so delivery can be checked properly.

What access information do you need?

For plant hire, access details matter. Tell FJC Hire about entrance width, low branches, gates, slopes, soft ground, overhead restrictions, loading area, road access and any tight turns.

If access is difficult, photos or measurements may be needed before hire is confirmed.

Do I need insurance?

Yes. Suitable insurance needs to be arranged by the customer. FJC Hire can advise when you call, but the customer is responsible for making sure the correct insurance is in place.

This is especially important for plant hire, site equipment, theft cover, damage cover and hired in plant requirements.

Can I collect the equipment myself?

This depends on the equipment, location, availability and whether collection is suitable for that item. Some kit may need proper transport, loading arrangements or delivery.

Call before travelling or assuming collection is available.

What happens if the site is not ready?

If the site is not ready, access is blocked, delivery cannot be completed or the machine cannot be used safely, delays and extra costs may apply.

Make sure the site is ready before the hire starts, with access, space and ground conditions checked in advance.

Photos, models and product listings.

Will I receive the exact machine shown in the photo?

No. Product images are for guidance only. The exact make, model, age, appearance and specification may vary depending on availability.

Call to confirm the exact machine or kit available for your hire dates and job.

Why are product photos used if the exact model may vary?

Photos help show the type and size of equipment being discussed, but hire supply can vary depending on availability, location and dates.

The website is designed to guide you to the right category, then the exact equipment is confirmed by phone.

Are all products shown always available?

No. The website shows common hire categories and equipment types, but availability must be checked before hire is confirmed.

Some equipment may be unavailable, already booked, substituted with an equivalent, or arranged through trusted supply routes.

Why is there no online checkout?

Hire is not the same as buying a product online. Availability, suitability, delivery, insurance and job details need to be checked before anything is confirmed.

That is why the website is built around calls and enquiries rather than a checkout button.

Can I request a specific make or model?

You can ask, but specific makes and models are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed unless confirmed when the hire is arranged.

If a particular specification matters, mention it clearly when you call.

Tool hire questions.

Do you offer tool hire as well as plant hire?

Yes. FJC Hire covers both plant hire and tool hire. Use the tool hire number for smaller tools and general tool hire enquiries.

If you are not sure whether your enquiry is plant hire or tool hire, call either line and the team can point you in the right direction.

Can tools be delivered?

Delivery may be possible depending on the tool, location, hire dates and availability.

Call with the site postcode and tool list so this can be checked.

What if I am not sure which tool I need?

Explain the job, material, working area and timescale. FJC Hire can help you work out what may be suitable and what can be arranged.

Need a proper answer?

Call with the job details, location, access, hire dates and what the kit needs to do. FJC Hire can then check what can be arranged.
